The Lights for Learning project is exciting! We take electricity and light for granted, but in many parts of the world it’s not so easy. This is the case in rural Rwanda where many homes rely only on kerosene lanterns or candles for light in the home at night.
Lights for Learning is a new World Vision project, spearheaded by David Strait and others at Christ Presbyterian Church, and with generous donations of over $70,000 to seed the project. Lights for Learning will provide solar-powered rechargeable LED lights to 2,500 children in three rural primary schools in the first year. By the end of the three-year program, all of the children in Nyamagabe and some adjacent areas will have safe, affordable lighting in their homes!
